This course will introduce you to the basic tools of theory of probability and statistics with applications to social sciences and business. The course consists of the following themes: counting techniques; basic probability concepts and theorems; discrete and continuous probability distributions; statistical inference and sampling, the central limit theorem, confidence intervals for the mean of a normal population, hypothesis testing  for the mean of a normal population.
